About us

We're a new, non-denominational church plant that's all about connecting people with Jesus. We're a community of imperfect people giving our lives to bring the perfect light of Jesus into a dark world. We exist for the good God and for the good of West Michigan because we believe Jesus is good news for

everyone, Including you.

So come check out what The Lakes is all about and help us make a massive difference in this place we call home.

"His intent was that now, THROUGH THE CHURCH, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence."

-Ephesians 3:10-12-

Todd BallarD

Lead Pastor

Todd comes from Kentucky originally and has been in ministry for 24 years. He's been a church planter and worship leader. He and his wife Cindy have 2 kids, Grady and Brooke.  He loves spending time with his family and playing sports!  His favorite athlete of all time is Tom Brady, the GOAT!

Elijah Shephard

worship Pastor

Elijah, Ally and Hudson joined the Lakes staff in July coming to us from Indiana and has been a great addition to the team. Elijah loves to quote The Office and he thinks country music is terrible- which makes him a great fit.

Nathan Zimmerman

Teaching Pastor

Nathan is a West Michigan native who's been in ministry for 13 years working with students and as a teaching pastor. His great passions are loving Jesus well, loving his family well [Sara, Cole, Hudson, and Max], and getting to play some ball before he's officially an old man.

Madison Reynen

student Pastor

Madison’s love for student ministry comes from growing up in the church as a pastor’s kid in Bailey, Michigan. She studied family ministries in college where she met her husband, Kyle. Kyle, Maddie, and their son Stanley all love to build relationships with students and their families, play fetch with their dog Oliver, and engage in a competitive evening of family game night.
